Shelter Worker

Community Housing Limited (CHL) Group of Companies is an innovative and best practice affordable housing organisation which assists access to, develops and manages sustainable housing for people in need.  You will be responsible for supporting single males in a residential facility. The service operates on a 24/7 roster and shifts are as follows:Day Shift: 7:30am – 12:30pm Monday to FridayNight shift: 4:00pm – 8:00am with sleepover, Monday to Sunday8:00am – 4:00pm Saturday, Sunday, and public holidays Casual conditions will applyYou will:  Undertake reception and intake processesCoordinate services and provide supported referrals for clientsDevelop and access client referral pathwaysUndertake general housekeepingAccurately complete all necessary documentation and data entryWork collaboratively with tenancy administrators and family support workers to provide transition and exit into appropriate housingAbout you: You will demonstrate relevant experience in case coordination and/or provision of support services, including a genuine commitment to achieving outcomes for clients. In addition, you will have a good working knowledge and understanding of the community and public housing sectors and services available to assist clients. You will also have:Excellent communication skillsCapacity to maintain a safe and stable environment for clients, including de-escalating issues as they arise High level time management and organisational skillsAbility to work independently as part of a wider teamFirst Aid certificate or willingness to obtain A commitment to the right of all people to affordable and sustainable housing.In return we offer a competitive salary, access to training and development and a range of other excellent benefits.
